Job CRITERIA
Minimum Qualifications:
- Twelve or more years of experience in ERCOT energy market or relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in electrical engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Preferred MQs:
Five or more years of experience in UPLAN.
Five or more years of experience in ERCOT market
Job Description
At an expert level, provides ERCOT optimal power flow study in UPLAN and provides fundamental analysis for congestion management of LCRA fleets in ERCOT CRR, DAM, and RT markets.
You will be trusted to:
· Builds long-term and short-term multiple-scenario ERCOT nodal market simulation models in UPLAN to support CRR and PTP trading, asset valuation, and market forecast.
· Performs analysis to develop views on basis spreads affecting the LCRA generation and load portfolio.
· When needed, helps with participating the congestion revenue rights (CRR) auctions to acquire CRRs in a cost-effective manner.
· When needed, helps with participating in the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) to acquire point-to-point (PTPs).
· Provides views of Transmission improvement projects that improve basis spread between LCRA’s generation and load zone.
· Observes transmission congestion and predicts potential congestion in real time and day ahead to help maximize the value of the portfolio.
· Develops and maintains analytical tools necessary to analyze supply/demand models.
